These beautifully crafted paper sculptures are done by Jen Stark. Her works were inspired when she was at college tavelled to France. She didnt take any art supplies with her and had to purchased them there. She decided to buy the cheapest and " the collest " art supply that was there and it turned out to be a pile of assorted coloured paper.
These paper sculptures are made out of cut out layers and layers of different coloured paper. The crafting quality in all of these works are amazing and the fact that the material that is being used is so accessible and by using a single blade, the artist created all this work.
After Stark started to create more of these paper sculptures. She created a piece of work that was displayed in the Miama Gallery just as she was getting more and more well known. On the gallery floor lays a pile of scraps of paper and the work was titled, " How to become a millionaire in 100 days". The artist spent 100 days cutting out 1,000,000 peices of paper to create a statement about the overly commercialised art market.
